The following is a message from Rod Larkin as a follow up to a message about getting started. I certainly agree with Rod as this business hasn't changed in terms of what it is we have to do to experience growth. This is the kind of message many of you might consider printing out and reading when you have questions about what is it a person has to do to create growth.

Hi,Taking action-- some kind, any kind, of action is the only thing that produces results and we are only paid for the PV RESULTS our business produces. Where does PV come from? We all know the answer to that question-- people using Shaklee products in their home. How many times does one need to hear, read, see and go over the 7 Key Steps for building this business before they take action and do the work? "If I just see it or hear it one more time--- then I'll be ready to start." The fundamental steps for building this business have never changed-- never. EVERYONE knows and is familiar with these 7 steps. BUT-- we often spend our time in the non-PV producing areas of thegetting ready phase and taking aim phase. The bummer to that is we don't get paid for time spent there. We don't get paid by the number of hours we work, we get paid by the amount of PV PRODUCING WORK we do.3 Phases of The 7 Key StepsGetting READY Phase1. Set GOALS with an action plan
2. Make a COMMITMENT of the time, effort, and money you'll invest each week in building your businessTaking AIM Phase3 . Make a LIST of people you will contactFIRE! The Action Phase4. CONTACT people from your list5. PRESENT the opportunity and the products to new people6. SPONSOR new members and distributors7. TEACH/TRAIN your new distributors how to build with the 7 Key StepsIn order for ANY results to be taking place, ALL of your time must be spent in the ACTION PHASE doing the IPAs-INCOME PRODUCING ACTIVITIES.
There isn't one more tool we need to be successful. There isn't one more product we need-- we have more than most companies in our industry have. There is only one thing we do need--- ACTION on our part--- not others part. Waiting for someone else to take action is a killer. When we take action--- others start taking action. That's just how it works. It's about taking action and putting your paddle in the water so you can get somewhere beyond where you are "floating" right now. If you aren't paddling, you aren't moving.Rod Larkin
