The word for today is "change"

My guess is there probably isn't a human in this world who wouldn't like to see change in some form or another for themselves. I know I could make a list and I'll bet you could too. Making changes in our lives certainly isn't easy but I think there is a starting point. You may have heard the idea that everything starts with a thought.   Everything? That's right, everything.

If we want to change our business or our lives we need to change our thoughts.   When I think back to that first day I heard of Shaklee I wanted change of some kind. I was looking for a new job and fortunately I didn't find one - but I did find an opportunity. I can't even put into words how our lives have changed because of making the decision to take a look at what this unknown company was about. I attended some meetings and met some nice people and heard a few stories and that led  me to think that maybe I could do something with this company.

I started to make notes of what people did to become successful. Nothing seemed to fit for me in my mind, except the fact that I loved the idea of the kind of future they talked about. It was clear that I would have to make some changes in my attitude. I didn't like the idea of sales.  Speaking to groups of people didn't sound good. Approaching people with a great idea was way beyond what I ever expected to be doing. Yet my thoughts were extremely positive about this opportunity.

What we think becomes what we  say, and what we talk about we eventually will bring about, and that becomes what we do. I was excited. I also felt very uncomfortable. But my decision was that I wanted what this company offered. I guess my desire for a future was stronger than the fears I had. Long story short, I fell in love with the idea of building this business and we did exactly that. It took a lot of little steps but over time those small decisions added up to big changes.

What changes do you want? Is it about changing yourself? Is it about working harder? Is it about attitude? Is it about approaching people with this great idea?   Change isn't easy but as you work your way through what you need to change, you'll look back some day and you will have won the battle. You and your family will have exactly what you wanted.      Make the decision and do whatever it takes to get rid of whatever it is that is holding you back.

Enthusiastically,
Gary Burke
