The word for today is invest. There are many paths to take when you bring up that word, but I want to use it in the arena of investing in yourself. Very early in my Shaklee career, I heard the following: "The reason you want to invest in yourself is because no one is more interested in your success than you."
Personal development is without question one of the most important things that happens to people as they join Shaklee and start doing things they have never done before. I know this is true because I feel strongly that I know I am not the same person I was when I first made the decision to build this business.
Investing in yourself means buying books, CDs, DVDs, going to meetings near and far, attending events and making a decision to never miss the annual Shaklee conference. The 2015 conference will be held next August in Cleveland, OH. It also means being willing to step across the line and doing things we've never done before. The first time I was asked to talk at a meeting I felt fear. The same was true when I started making some phone calls. I was terrible because I didn't have one ounce of confidence in myself. At the same time I was excited about the possibilities of what could happen. I just had to start at square one and do what I could do.
I hope you have a goal that is so exciting to you that you are willing to step up and develop the skills you will need to experience your personal development. Invest in yourself. I guarantee you that as time goes by the day will come and you will have become more of what you are truly capable of becoming. Your investments will have paid off for you and believe me when I say, you will become capable of doing whatever it is you choose to do. Go for it. Keep at it. Don't allow anyone to steal that dream.
Enthusiastically,
Gary Burke
