You can't coach effort

When I was teaching at a high school in Wisconsin I was also coaching 9th grade basketball, baseball, and was the head football coach for a couple years. I then went to the University of North Dakota as a graduate assistant on the football staff.

What I learned was you can't coach effort. Kids or people will either do it or they won't. Of course the individuals who worked the hardest were always the ones that improved the most. Some just didn't like to work hard, but they loved being on a team and we had a lot of fun.

What I would like to suggest is ask yourself some questions and have some good conversations with yourself.  Do I really want what this company is offering? Am I willing to put in the effort it will probably take to be successful? Am I willing to ignore negativity? Who can help me learn what it is I have to do? Do I have the time to put in the effort? I will have to make the time if this is going to work.

Think about it. You'll never regret putting in the effort to build your future.

Enthusiastically,
Gary Burke
