Why not me?

No matter what a person attempts to accomplish or achieve, obstacles will always be part of the formula for succeeding. Obstacles are just a part of life. We all have our routines that we do on a daily basis and moving forward will always require change of some kind.   Our routines are easy and of course that is because we've been doing them for months, years and probably decades.

Norman Vincent Peale said, "Stand up to your obstacles. You will find that they haven't half the strength you think they have." I believe that one thing everyone can do is develop the habit of asking themselves questions. Here are some examples. What do I have to learn to become more successful? What's holding me back from using my God-given potential? Why don't I do the things that I want to do? What's my biggest obstacle? I see and hear how others are growing their business. Why not me?   What excuses, if any, do I use on a regular basis?

As I think back what has helped me is when I would get stuck is I would ask myself a question. Probably the question I found myself asking the most was, "Why don't I do what I want to do? That was always frustrating. I wanted to prospect more but many, many times I just couldn't get myself to do what I really wanted. Fear was an issue with me in the early years because I've always been kind of laid back and very quiet. I finally decided that my desire to be successful was going to be stronger than all the excuses or reasons that would stop me.

What's your desire for you and your Shaklee future? Once you decide your desire is going to be stronger than circumstances or obstacles, you will grow and that's when you will experience personal development and things will change.

Enthusiastically,
Gary Burke
