It's simplicity that attracts

First of all, I hope all is going well for you as you build your future.  Of course, there are good times and also times not as good as those times.  We all have to learn how to handle adversity because it happens to everyone.  A number of ideas have helped me over the years both to be consistent with my effort as well as not allow myself to get overwhelmed with more than I can handle.

When things don't seem to be going well, make sure you don't make them more complex than they need to be.  That happens to lots of people in life as well as in business.  You always want to make sure you get back to the fundamentals.

One simple principle I bought into years ago is that complexity impresses but simplicity attracts.  In my view, my job is not to impress people.  My job is to learn how to attract people to ideas that have potential to make their life better.   Then allow the ideas to impress the people.  Think about that for a day or so and ask yourself some questions:

Do I know and understand what the fundamentals to my business are?
Have I been working the fundamentals and developing my skills in those areas?
Am I keeping things as simple as possible?
Do I see positive results from my efforts?
Do I have a mentor to talk with on occasion?
Am I a good student to what my mentor suggests?

Have your best week ever over the next several days.  Go make something happen.

Enthusiastically,
Gary Burke
