This morning I was thinking about doing a simple message and I got mentally stuck. Then something I hadn't thought of for years came to mind. When I was teaching high school kids in about 1965 I came across a simple quote that I printed on a small piece of paper. For some reason these simple words just literally grabbed me. I recall getting very inspired then and I feel inspired this morning.
I kept this small piece of paper with me for many years and here are those simple words, but I can't recall who said it.
"Ah, a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for."
When I just finished typing those words a thought was, Google it. I did and there it was.
Robert Browning Born May 07, 1812 Died December 13, 1901.
I remember sitting at a table in my small apartment above Etta's Beauty Salon and reaching out my hand in front of me and then saying those words....."My reach should exceed my grasp." Those words still inspire me today. Think about it for a minute, your "reach should exceed your grasp." You can do more than you've done. I can do more than I've done.
What this means to me today is that all of us should reach out and do things we haven't ever done.
All of us have incredible God given potential. Let's use it.
Enthusiastically,
Gary Burke
