The following was in the Minneapolis newspaper in the sports section a couple days ago. A University of Minnesota basketball player made this very interesting comment about what it takes to go through a season where loses were more than the wins.
“You will grow through what you go through.”
Going through seasons when everything seems to be great but then things happens and it feels like the world is going south. This happens in sports and it happens in business. Read that quote one or two more times or until you really get what this is saying.
While you are building your business there will be days, weeks and some times months when things don’t seem to be working. The formula for growth is saying that we will have to go through those seasons and at the same time we have to keep up the effort because there are always great days, weeks and months ahead for us. There are always bumps in the road. Everyone has those days when we question what we’re doing.
Talk to anyone you know who is successful in what they do and ask them about failures. I guarantee they have experienced failures. That’s just part of life. Things happen. But sticking with the plan for succeeding is the answer. Things will change for the positive as long as we continue to stay positive while we continue to experience those bumps in the road.
Always remember: “You will grow through what you go through.”
Enthusiastically,
Gary Burke
