Is this a good time to get started?

Recently I was asked about getting started in this business and if it was different when I got started than it is now.   What came to mind was a proverb that I read years ago:

The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.

I don't know who said that but I do remember it because it makes so much sense. If you planted a tree twenty years ago it would be fully formed and beautiful. The same goes for this business. If you had started twenty years ago and worked at it all these years and worked a process you would probably be financially set for life.

Now is always the best time to do something that you would consider to be important. There are people who are relatively new in Shaklee and they are doing absolutely great. For example, I talked with Nel Prentiss from the home office yesterday and in our conversation via e-mail she mentioned that this weekend there is a conference for New Directors. Within this class there are four people who are in qualification for Master Coordinator. That is amazing to me and very exciting.

I'm sure I could come close to writing our what these four people are doing in order to grow like they are. They have goals and then a process to follow that will literally assure them of success. They are talking to lots of people, doing training meetings, they have appointments for opportunity presentations, they follow up, they focus on the people who are willing to work, they do regular meetings, and they are excited about the future and are willing to work hard to make their future and their business grow.

If you're wondering if now is a good time to get started.....forget that....it's a GREAT TIME TO GET STARTED. For those of you who may have been involved for a while, now is also a great time to get re-started. Get started and then stay started and you will never regret working hard.

Enthusiastically,
Gary Burke
